Sunday Afternoon ‘round the Bay racing is BACK.
 
In 2020 three Sunday ‘round the Bay races are scheduled. All will be held on long weekends.
 
Racing will be fun and relaxing.  No crowded start lines.  It’ll be a Pursuit Race format, just like the Turkey Regatta.
 
Mark these dates in your calendar now:

• Sunday May 17
• Sundat August 2
• Sunday Sept 6

Racing will be FREE but please note … if you don't have a PHRF certificate please register before the day of race to give us time to figure out how your boat should rate on a provisional basis.

If you are regstered for Club racing you are automatically registered for 'round the Bay too.  Easy peasy.

The Bill Cheek Memorial Turkey Regatta is a Pursuit Race. In this format, boats receive staggered start times based on their PHRF ratings, i.e. the slower boats start first, followed by faster and faster boats, with the scratch boat starting last. This eliminates all those crowds at the start. It also makes crystal clear how you’re doing against the competition: the first boat to the finish wins, simple as that.

Those who day pursuit racing is uncompetitive have probably not tried it..There’s nothing like watching some guy with 10 feet more LOA walking up on you from astern to get you tweaking those control lines. And if you’re the one with the extra LOA, it's hard to keep a straight face as you roll past those little guys on your way to the finish.

• $25 Registration Fee (until midnight Thursday October 8)

• $30 on Friday & Saturday Oct 11-12th

 

Prizes

Turkeys will be awarded to the first 3 boats in each fleet to sail the course and finish.  Chickens will be awarded to all other boats sailing the course and finishing.
